Deborah Roffman -  Tween/Teen: Talking Sense About Sex

Thursday, January 21, 2010, 1 - 2:30 pm, Wilmette Junior High School Auditorium, 620 Locust Road, co-sponsored with Highcrest Middle School PTO, Wilmette.

Deborah Roffman, M.S, has been a sexuality educator, author and educational consultant for more than 30 years.  The author of Sex & Sensibility: The Thinking Parent's Guide to Talking Sense About Sex, she last spoke in New Trier Township in 2006.  She is the human sexuality educator at The Park School, Baltimore.

The sexuality of our culture has changed more than we (or our kids) know.  Parents are key to guiding children and adolescents.  More than just “the talk” and when to have it, Deborah Roffman stresses a five part framework for overcoming the obstacles for effectively discussing values, facts, and limits.  Learn how to open the way for ongoing and anticipatory communication within the family.

This program was not recorded to respect privacy and encourage audience participation at the request of the speaker.  285 parents attended. There is a report at MakeItBetter.net
