EQ: EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

WHAT IT IS & WHY IT IS CRITICAL TO YOUR CHILD’S SUCCESS

Wednesday, January 15, 2003  12:45 – 2:30 p.m.

New Trier High School – Northfield Campus  Building C – Room 234

Emotional intelligence refers to a person’s ability to handle emotions and social relationships, skills that are critical to success in school, at work and in life. This program features Ed Dunkelblau, Ph.D, Director of the Institute for Emotionally Intelligent Learning and a nationally known speaker on the topics of Emotional Intelligence, humor and health. Dr. Dunkelblau also consults regularly with several Illinois school districts (including Northbrook) on applications of EQ in the schools. The program will address issues such as:

  • Improving your child’s school performance
  • Reducing conflicts at home
  • Teaching parents to talk so that children will think
  • Teaching children to make effective, healthy choices
